I teach all ages and levels of riders with an emphasis on safety and good horse management. All beginners will start out learning on a longe line so that they can work on developing a secure and independent seat and hands. A longe line is like a really long dog leash where I can control the horse while the student can be safe and work on learning and having fun. After the student learns the basics of how the rider's body can effect the horse and they know the basic use of their aids, they may begin to work off the longe line.
I teach my students that to become good riders, they must become thinking riders. They must learn to understand how the horse thinks and develop empathy for their mount. I feel that this is just as important an aspect to teach as the actual technical riding skills, for without it, you cannot have a true partnership.
At this time I teach out of several stables in the Green Bay area and am willing to travel. School horses are available.
